Trump’s choice for CIA director, Mike Pompeo, is a big fan of torture. On the CIA analysis front, the $64 question is this: Will the two new Mikes – Pompeo and Trump National Security Adviser Mike Flynn – be able to suborn CIA analysts into conjuring up fraudulent intelligence to “justify” an attack on Iran (as their predecessors did with respect to Iraq 14 years ago)? The reality of “potential pre-emptive leaks” can act as a brake on that kind of dishonesty.
