Doubting Obama’s Resolve to Do Right

Written a year ago after some of Obama’s rhetorical flourishes on May 23, 2013 were unexpectedly countered by Medea Benjamin speaking truth at the National Defense University.

“Is this who we are?” asked Obama referring to Guantanamo.

If only Obama had half the courage of Medea and the patriots of Code Pink. I wish they could assure him somehow that they would have his back, if he summoned the courage to stop being intimidated by “tough-guy women” – Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Victoria Nuland, for example.

I understand that the FBI and Homeland Security are using each and every facial-recognition technology in the U.S. arsenal to ensure that Medea is not commissioned an Army officer at West Point Wednesday, where Obama plans to give us another earful of rhetoric.
