Stifling Dissent on the Upper East Side

by Todd E. Pierce, Major, US Army JAG (ret.)

Modern U.S. counterinsurgency doctrine doesn’t just target people in faraway lands where the U.S. military is battling some uprising. It also takes aim at Americans whose dissent might undermine those wars, possibly explaining the strange arrest and jailing of Ray McGovern on Oct. 30, writes Todd Pierce. (Ray’s trial in New York City Criminal Court has been set for Feb. 4.)

Ray interviewed by Peter B. Collins

11/21/14

Ray shares recent experience with the surveillance state, his comments on the movie Citizen4, Ed Snowden, patriot whistleblowers – including those who worked with NSA and quit when AF Gen. & NSA Director Michael Hayden gave a Prussian salute to Dick Cheney’s order to deep-six the 4th Amendment – and other current topics.

Interview is discursive, includes macabre humor, covers a lot in 57 min.: you may wish to listen in segments.
