The U.S. Afghanistan (or, as Dan Ellsberg has called it, “Vietnamistan”) adventure was a fool’s errand from the start. That’s why I found it so hard to believe that Obama would let himself get sucked into it. No brains, or no guts? I think he’s got brains.
