Ray Warns of False-Flag Attack on U.S. Warships off Syria

Also calls on President Obama to take leaf out of Reagan book and make public the evidence the U.S. claims to have that Bashar al-Assad ordered the August 21 chemical attack.

In April 1986 when Reagan bombed Gaddafi’s palace ten days after the Libyans killed two U.S. servicemen and several others by bombing a disco in Berlin, Reagan’s credibility was as low as Obama’s is now. People were markedly less callous then, and felt a bit squeamish that Gaddafi’s 15-month old daughter was killed in the bombing, which also wounded his 3-year old son.

Most of the world, and many Americans thought Reagan was shooting from the hip. What was the evidence that the Libyans bombed the Berlin disco?

Overriding the objections of NSA and CIA, Reagan ordered the publication of the text of the most damning intercepted Libyan secret message. That blew an important intelligence source, but it added credibility to the reasons behind what had appeared to many as an unjustified, wanton attack on Qaddafi, no friend of Ronald Reagan.

Reagan saw the problem and had, well, what one might call “a decent respect for the opinions of mankind,” in giving the world more than a “Trust Me.” That’s what President Obama needs to do now.
