Coleen Rowley received SAAII’s first annual award in 2002 – the same year she was named a Time magazine Person of the Year (an honor she shared with two other courageous women whistleblowers.) Elizabeth Murray, former Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the Near East, planned and coordinated the award ceremony, which was MCed by former UK Ambassador Craig Murray, the awardee in 2005. Speakers included two other former awardees – Larry Wilkerson (2009) and Tom Drake (2011) – together with two former CIA officials, analyst Larry Johnson and operations officer Phil Geraldi.
