Is there a better way than dangerous escalation to stave off total Russian victory in Ukraine? Briefing ‘President’ Scheer on the eve of NATO summit, I suggested, gingerly, that he talk to Hungary’s Viktor Orban rather than appear odd man out (after Orban’s talks over recent days with Zelensky, Putin, and Xi Jinping.) There is no sign that this happened while Orban was in Washington for the summit.
No one should be surprised that Orban is now headed to Mar-a-Lago to visit Donald Trump this evening.

My Most Recent Briefing of ‘The President’
Telling ‘President Scheer’ to his face: Don’t believe what your
advisers tell you about Putin not stopping at Ukraine but
conquering Poland, the Baltics, Hungary, as well. The official
UKRAINIAN account of talks with Russia proves he DID STOP –
back in March 2022. A Ukraine-Russia was successfully
negotiated and initialed in Istanbul, when former UK Prime
Minister Boris Johnson flew to Kyiv and nixed the deal.
There is zero evidence that Putin wants to conquer most of
Ukraine, much less Poland and other countries. Zelensky and
Putin both micromanaged the Istanbul agreement; each is
painfully aware that what the US/UK wanted to do is weaken
Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy.
The danger here is that Americans, not knowing the real story, will support further escalation against Russia. As for the geniuses
around Biden, their attitude seems to be, What’s to lose? Perhaps
the US can stave off definitive defeat in Ukraine (and,
consequently, in the election) if we can just make it to November.
